Mango Bay Event Team! Spring 2019 tryouts are underway. Spring Team runs April 2nd- June 21st.
What is Eventing?
Eventing (also known as horse trials) is an equestrian event where a single horse and rider combination compete against other combinations across the three disciplines of dressage, cross-country, and show jumping.
Our Teams- We have three teams accommodating riders of different skill levels- Team 1, 2 and 3.
The event team is a great way to build your skills for eventing, as well as a fun opportunity to
build team spirit and lasting friendships. The focus Mango Bay Event Team will be on camaraderie, good sportsmanship, skill development and building confidence by increasing individual equestrian skills.
The event team will meet twice a week for mounted
practice, and two Saturday's a month for barn hours. Each week there will be one lesson
focusing on jumping and the other on dressage. Team members will get first priority for participating in shows and clinics. To participate we recommend that you're comfortable cantering in and
out of the ring. We will also hold end of the year awards with fun prizes and a team dinner
This is a great opportunity to increase your skills and move up a level.
All riders between the ages of 8 to 17 may be eligible. We hold try-outs prior to the start of each season.
Barn hours will be held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, unless otherwise stated at the beginning of the session. The cost of the event team does not include competitions, off property schoolings or clinics.
The time commitment includes twice weekly riding instruction and assisting the barn and event team needs two Saturday mornings per month. Saturday morning barn hours will be held on the 2ndand 4th Saturday of each month, unless otherwise stated at the beginning of the session.
Saturday mornings will be dedicated to team related barn projects and horsemanship lessons. We expect to conduct classes on trailering, wrapping and basic first aide.
Proper attire is required. For non-recognized shows a white polo shirt and tan or beige breeches are acceptable. You will also need a regulation hard hat, medical arm band, safety vest, short boots and chaps or tall boots. For recognized shows a riding jacket and tall boots are required. We can refer you to several new or used riding apparel stores in the area to reduce costs.
