Helmet Policy

Picture
Churchill Stables Rider Helmet Policy

All riders must wear an ASTM SEI approved equestrian riding helmet. There are no exceptions.

We take safety very seriously and expect that you will also!
Helmets are neither one size fits all, nor interchangeable between sports. We can not stress this enough- if your child arrives in a bike, scooter or ski helmet they will not be able to ride one of our horses.

Equestrian helmets are tested by the Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) for chinstrap retention, penetration by a sharp object, and for impact absorption. These tests are specifically for horseback riding related accidents.

We are licensed and insured to only teach students in an approved riding helmet. We are unwilling to put our license, our livelihood, nor your child’s safety at risk. Please do not register for a riding program at Churchill Stables if you are unwilling or unable to purchase the requisite equipment.
It is not fair to your child who won’t be able to ride, nor is it fair to our staff who must supervise an unhappy child.
